Fortune Island - Nasugbu Batangas

Fortune Island in Nasugbu Batangas is one of the must see island in this area not only because of the controversy lies in this place but more than that is the beauty and serenity that this island brings to whoever took courage and time in sailing just to be there.

Last May 25, 15 brave souls travel to see the beauty of the island.  We did the road trip as early as 2:00 am from Manila to Nasugbu then took a boat ride from Nasugbu to Fortune Island.  It was a long ride but all the time and efforts are all worth it.  Indeed we were so fortunate to see the calm beauty of this island which used to be a grand resort before but for some reasons this resort was abandoned.  This Island was long owned by Jose Antonio Leviste, the former governor of Batangas province.  Hearsay said that it was because of political controversy but whatever the reasons behind of abandoning this place should not be the reason for you to visit and explore the beauty of the place.

There are many things you can enjoy while spending your weekend in this secluded place like photo opps, swimming, cliff diving, snorkeling or even just sitting and relaxing while enjoying the beauty of the island is I think more fun than being inside the mall.  If you are into history, I think you will be fascinated by the shipwreck that can be found in this island.  This shipwreck was discovered in 1992 by a French underwater archeologist Franck Goddio and according to history this is Galleon San Diego sunk on December 14, 1600 by a Dutch warship Mauritius.
